In May 2007, six Texas A&M students went on a journey in search of the reality behind the Texas/Mexico border. Expecting to find despair, they were surprised when they found an abundance hope in the community of Nuevo Laredo; yet, a need for help – a need for change. Behind every joyful grin in Nuevo Laredo was a grimace with years of injustice stained onto its teeth. After continued search, the perfect place to begin combating the economic, academic, and political injustice plaguing Mexico was located: Casa Hogar Mons. Enrique Tomas Lozano.
Thus, the Full Hearts Foundation was formed. Conversations sparked, word spread, and in February of 2009, Full Hearts Foundation became a registered national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
We believe in opportunity through education, and education as an opportunity to grow; however, a student can’t learn on an empty stomach.
Physically, we focus our energy on Distance Learning and Mentoring through Skype, Pen-Pal Letters, and Care Packages. Financially, we give money for Casa Hogar’s monthly food needs.
We aim to educate; to motivate; to develop.
We aim to give every girl an opportunity to receive a proper education; to help them find their passion, then give them the tools to live that passion.
We aim to support;
to give every girl at Casa Hogar peace of mind regarding the whereabouts of their next meal.
We aim to lay a foundation of dedication, academic proficiency, and service;
to encourage the girls to pass their opportunities along to younger generations.
